10 foolish reasons for not paying credit card bills on time!

Why would anyone not want to pay their credit card bills on time? In most cases, if we have the money, the bills get paid first, right? Well, this may not register with everyone. Believe it or not, there are many people out there who make excuses as to why they can’t or rather, prefer not to pay their credit card bills on time even when they have the money. Instead they come up with all these foolish reasons for not paying their credit card bills on time.

Are you one of those people? Let’s take a look.

1. Materialistic Possessions or Obsession

It’s understandable that credit cards make shopping extremely easy. Today, more people prefer to own the latest fashion and may choose possessing materialistic things over paying their credit card bills on time.

2. Gambling Your Life Away!

Maybe this is your lucky day. Do you pay the credit card bills or gamble? Gambling sounds like a better idea than paying your bills on time because there’s a chance that you can double or triple the money. Not only will you be able to pay your bills if you win, you will have extra cash to splurge. Well, we all know how that turned out!

3. Taking Revenge

Being angry at the credit card company and refusing to pay your bills on time will show them, right? Wrong!

4. Interest Rates Went Up

So, the credit card company jacked-up your interest rate and you decide to not pay your bill on time to get even. This is not going to reduce your rate, nor will it help your credit score.

5. Trash Them, Ignore Them Or Put In The Do Not Open Pile

If you don’t know that your credit card bills are due, how can you pay them? Not a good one!

6. Move But Don’t Change Address With The Credit Card Company

Not receiving the notice is not a good excuse and I don’t think the credit card company will fall for it.

7. The Bill Didn’t Come On Time

The bill didn’t come on time means that I don’t have to pay it on time either. Umm don’t think so!

8. Lying

Lying your way out by saying “Didn’t I already send that in?” knowing very well that you didn’t.

9. Claiming It’s The Company’s Fault

Since you have already reported my late payment to the credit bureau, there’s no rush to send it in now, is there?

10. Juggling Act

If I pay you now, then I won’t have any money left over to pay my other bills or do other things.

These may sound like foolish reasons to many of us, but for some these are valid reasons for not paying their credit card bills on time. My advice, stop making excuses and pay your bills on time.
